Watkins Glen, NY, 21 September – The seventh round of the North American Ferrari Challenge ended today at Watkins Glen International in upstate New York. Following yesterday's first place victory for the Trofeo Pirelli class, Emmanuel Anassis of Ferrari of Quebec again finished on top of the podium steps. He qualified in fifth position in today’s race, but swiftly rose to the top when Ricardo Perez (Ferrari of Houston) suffered from a blown tire incident halfway through the race. After the three-lap caution, it was a fierce battle for the top-three finishers. Damon Ockey and Ryan Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario) finished two and three respectively, showcasing a podium full of Canadian winners.
The competition ensued as Carlos Conde (Miller Motorcars) raced his way through the Trofeo Pirelli drivers. He would ultimately take the first place trophy for the Coppa Shell division with John Baker (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) and Chris Ruud (Ferrari of Beverly Hills) finishing in third.
The next and final round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli takes place from October 31 to November 2 at Circuit of The Americas in conjunction with the United States Grand Prix.
