Silverstone, 13 September- This was the first day of the Ferrari Racing Days event at Silverstone, England along with the fifth round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. It presented the perfect opportunity for total immersion in the world of Ferrari, while watching a busy day of track action. There were free practice sessions for the cars that make up the special XX and F1 Clienti programmes, as well as Ferrari Challenge races. The Ferrari Owners Club was also out in force, showing off a vast range of cars from the Maranello marque from the past 20 years, taking part in the Pirelli Ferrari Open Racing Series.Race 1 in the Trofeo Pirelli took place today, with victory in the Pro category going to Italy’s Daniele Di Amata driving for Motor Piacenza. 4.481 seconds behind was Austria’s Philipp Baron (Octane 126,) and Italy’s Dario Caso flying the flag for Rossocorsa-Pelling Racing.In the AM category, a great win for David Gostner (Ineco-MP Racing) who took his first win of the season here in Silverstone. Second was Argentina’s Ezequiel Perez Companc (Motor Piacenza), with third going to Alessandro Vezzoni (Rossocorsa Pelling Racing).In the Coppa Shell, quickest was Italy’s Massimiliano Bianchi (Kessel Racing) who drove a fantastic race, also setting the race fastest lap in 2.09.260. There was close fought battle for second, with Belgium’s Jacques Duyver (Motor Piancenza) coming off best, with a series of spectacular passing moves to get ahead of third placed Eric Prinoth (Ineco - MP Racing).
