Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific – Max Blancardi, Philippe Prette and David Tjiptobiantoro on top in race 2 at Fuji Speedway

Tokyo, 14th September – Race 2 of Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific 2014 season Round 5 was held at Fuji Speedway on Sunday, the second day of “Ferrari Racing Days Fuji 2014”. Under the bright sunlight of the late summer, thousands of fans who enthusiastically gathered for the event enjoyed the fast and furious races just like the day before.

Excitement, spectacle and thrills were aplenty on the second day of the race. The drivers fought fiercely for victory under the hot sun with the latest machine “458 Challenge Evoluzione” and tifosis were thrilled watching it from the grandstand.

Also, Ferrari GT Driver Giancarlo Fisichella participated in the race as a Guest of Honour. From the farthest starting position he presented his breakneck speed ability to entertain the fans.

At Trofeo Pirelli Pro classification, Mr. Max Blancardi took the top spot with an amazing race time of 31:51:903, while in the Trofeo Pirelli classification Mr. Philippe Prette swept away the victory with 31:58:281. The second place went to Mr. Steve Wyatt, who crossed the line just before Mr. Ringo Chong, finishing the race in 31:59.925.

In the Coppa Shell Category, Mr. David Tjiptobiantoro from Indonesia took the victory with the race time of 32:13:703, Mr. Vicente Floirendo was in second place, followed by Mr. Paul van Loenhout with just a 0.9 second delay.

Max Blancardi commented after the race “It was a pleasure getting on the track with Giancarlo Fisichella in the race and would like to thank Ferrari for the wonderful opportunity. I started from the third row in the beginning trying to stay close to Fisichella who was constantly leading the race, and was able to close the race at blazing speed at the end.”

The Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific series continued to attract the attendees with hot races for two days, which added extra excitement for Ferrari fans who enjoyed “Ferrari Racing Days Fuji 2014”.

The next round of the Asia Pacific Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will take place in Sepang, Malaysia, on 1 – 2 November. The final round, Finali Mondiali, will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 3 – 6 December.
