GT Asia – Two Ferrari wins over the Sepang weekend

Sepang, 17 August –There were two wins for Ferrari in the fourth round of the GT Asia championship. In the main series the win came in Race 2, courtesy of Japan’s Keita Sawa and Malaysia’s Weng Sun Mok, who were first past the flag in the Clearwater Racing Ferrari 458 Italia.
The duo finished just over a second ahead of the NB Team Aston Martin, crewed by Italy’s Massimiliano Wieser and China’s Xiu Jiang and 16 ahead of the other BBT Ferrari driven by Italy’s Davide Rizzo and China’s Anthony Liu Xu.
The other win came the previous day in Race 1, when coming out ahead of the rest in the GTM class were Denmark’s Thomas Fjordbach and Taiwan’s George Chou, at the wheel of the Taiwan Top Speed Racing Team Ferrari 458 Challenge. The overall winner of the first race was the Craft Bamboo AMR Aston Martin in the hands of the German Stefan Mucke and Hong Kong’s Frank Yu. Second was the Rizzo-Liu Xu Ferrari, with the Clearwater McLaren third, driven by Britain’s Bob Bell and the Japanese driver Hiroshi Hamaguchi.
The next round takes place again at Sepang, from 12 to 14 September.
