Silverstone, 20 July - At the fifth round of the GT Open Championship at Silverstone, Ferrari celebrated a double victory, winning in both the Super GT category and in the junior GTS class. In race 2, Daniel Zampieri and Roman Mavlanov, the top Russian Bears crew in car 60, took their Ferrari to an overall win in the Super GT category.
The other podium places went to the Aston Martin crew of Jody Fannin and Darren Turner and the Chevrolet Corvette pairing of Archie Hamilton and Isaac Tutumlu, driving for TF Sport and Selleslagh Racing Team respectively. Fourth was the number 1 car of Italians Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò entered by Scuderia Villorba Corse. In the GTS category, the Ferrari 458 Italia crewed by Joan Vinyes and José Manuel Perez Aicart crossed the line ahead of the Porsche of Matteo Beretta and Joël Camathias in the Autorlando Sport car and the Novadriver Audi driven by César Campaniço and Aditya Patel.
The next round takes place at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium from 5 to 7 September.
