Ferrari Challenge Europe: The spectacular
Trofeo Pirelli in action at Portimao

Portimao, 17 July –The Ferrari Challenge Europe cars have arrived at the beautiful Portimao circuit, in the Algarve region of Portugal. And on Saturday and Sunday, they will be putting on their usual spectacular show. The Ferrari 458 Challenge EVO cars will be seen at their absolute best over the climbs and drops of this track, helped by the new aero package that allows the drivers to show off their skills.

In both Trofeo Pirelli classes, the championship is very open. In the PRO category, Daniele Di Amato still leads, having fended off his main rival Dario Caso back in the Czech Republic and he now has a good lead over Austria’s Philipp Baron. The Motor Piacenza driver, who won race 2 in Brno, leads on 96 points, four more than Caso who finished both the last races in second place. Third equal on 63 points are Baron and the winner of Race 1 in Brno, Alexander Martin. Also worth keeping an eye on is the Czech Oknaj, who took two third places at home.

It’s even closer in the Trofeo Pirelli Am, still led by the young Argentinian, Ezequiel Perez Companc (Motor Piacenza) even though he didn’t have the best of weekends in Brno, bringing home a mere 11 points, even if this was one more than his main rival Giacommo Stratta (Forza Service.) The mediocre showing from the two leaders means others have closed the gap. Perz Companc is on 70 points, while Stratta has 59, with hardened Italian campaigners, Raffaele Giannoni (Motor Piacenza) and Alessandro Vezzoni (Rossocorsa Pellin Racing,) who both scored a second in Brno on 56. The man who did best in the last round was local hero Tomas Kukucka from It all kicks off again in Portimao, but here in the video in the meantime, you can see the action from the Ferrari Challenge Europe in Brno.
