Portimao, 18 July – With racing in the Ferrari Challenge Coppa Shell about to get underway tomorrow, the scenario features the top two drivers separated by just 2 points. Dutchman Fons Scheltema is still leading, after following up a disappointing first race in Brno with a win in the second. However, behind him, his Kessel Racing team-mate Massimiliano Bianchi has made up nine points with a win and second place in the Czech Republic, making the most of the characteristics of the new EVO package on the 458 Challenge car, used in the three series, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, on the climbs and drops of Brno.
Another Kessel Racing man, the Canadian Rick Lovat, is third, further back on 58 points, with a 7 point lead over Erich Prinoth of the Ineco MP team. In the Coppa Gentlemen, Scheltema is in a much more comfortable position, having a 23 point lead over Lovat and 30 over Prinoth.
