Shanghai, 8 June - The third round of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific came to an end today at the Shanghai International Circuit.
13 laps of the track, 30 minutes of thrilling action provided plenty of excitement for a crowd of over 30,000 in the grandstands. In the Trofeo Pirelli, the win went to China’s Anthony Liu, who thus completed a perfect race weekend. He also took the race fastest lap in 2.11.715. Second was the Australian Steve Wyatt, closely followed home by Philippe Prette from Hong Kong. In the Pirelli Pro category, Dutchman Carlo van Dam took the top spot, leading home the series leader Max Blancardi.
As for the Coppa Shell, once again victory went to Indonesia’s David Tjiptobiantoro, who has headed the classification right from the start of the Asian series. Behind him was Australia’s Paul van Loenhout and the South Korean Jung Hoon Youn, better known to the crowd as the host of Top Gear Korea.
The next round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli takes place from 18 to 20 July at Korea’s Inje circuit, on the same card as the Asian Le Mans Series.
