Ferrari Racing Days – Visitors delighted in Sydney

Sydney, 12 April - The first-ever Ferrari Racing Days to be held in Sydney opened to the public today with a fabulous foray into the festivities. Visitors saw Max Blancardi take the top spot for Pirelli Pro classification on the podium with an impressive racing time of 25:25:583, while Philippe Prette took the honours in the Pirelli classification for experienced drivers and David Tjiptobiantoro took first place in the Coppa Shell race.

Setting the tone from first thing this morning, attendees were treated to a spectacular sight when Sydney was awash with a sea of red, as a cavalcade of 150 Ferraris travelled en masse from Glebe Island, across the Sydney Harbour Bridge onto the Sydney Motorsport Park.

Throughout the day visitors were treated to the full ‘Festival of Ferrari’ experience as they took in on-track activity including the F1 Clienti, sports and enjoy drives, with one of the stand out moments when the Ferrari F1 car took to the track. F1 test driver Marc Gene was behind the wheel, commanding the full attention of thousands when he reached over 300km/h on a flying lap.

The final day of Ferrari Racing Days Australia will kick off at Sydney Motorsport Park with gates opening to the public from 8:30am tomorrow.
