Sonoma, April 27 – The drivers showcased pure driving exhilaration in today’s Race 2 at Sonoma Raceway. Polesitter Harry Cheung of Ferrari of Beverly Hills fought a fierce battle against Ricardo Perez of Mexico (Ferrari of Houston). Between the sharp turns of the track, Perez ultimately grabbed the victory for Trofeo Pirelli and overall, with the Ockey brothers of Ferrari of Ontario, Damon and Ryan, following suite. The race was action packed with the first five cars in just 2.705 seconds.
Leading the Coppa Shell classification was Jon Becker, beating his teammate from Ferrari of Beverly Hills, Chris Ruud, by less than a second creating a reversed order of Race 1 results. Finishing in third place was, just like Saturday, James Weiland of Ferrari of San Francisco keeping the Coppa Shell field in tight contention.
The next round for the North American Ferrari Challenge takes place at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California from May 16-18.
