Le Mans, 16 June – As the eight hours of racing passed at the Sarthe circuit, night time had fallen. In this first part, a spectacular accident had the crowd and crews holding their breath at the start of the sixth hour, following a spectacular accident involving Anthony Davidson in the Toyota TS030 Hybrid and Perazzini, who was crewed with Cadei and Griffin, in AF Corse’s Ferrari No. 81 running in the LMGTE AM class. Both drivers escaped serious injury, although the race is over for Ferrari car. The Safety Car was called out and stayed out for an hour. A great scrap continues between the AF Corse No. 51 Ferrari, currently with Vilander at the wheel and Gavin in Corvette No. 74, who currently appears to have the upper hand, although seemingly using more fuel. The Luxury Racing No. 59 car with Melo driving, is fifth while quickest at the moment in the LMGTE AM class is the Krohn Racing cars, currently third with Michele Rugolo driving.
